Borrowing

LIBRARY CARDS

Eligibility and Registration
Applicants must provide a telephone number, e-mail address and mailing address. All borrowers have the same borrowing privileges and are subject to the policies of the Sherman Library Association. Library cards may be renewed in person or by telephone. There is a $2.00 fee to replace a lost or damaged library card.

Residents: Any resident of Sherman with a current Sherman mailing address will receive a Sherman Library card upon request for three years. The library card may be used in all Connecticut public libraries that participate in a reciprocal borrowing program. Use of a Sherman Library card at another library is subject to the rules of that library.

Children: There is no minimum age for card eligibility. The parent or guardian is responsible for activity on a child’s library card including replacement fees incurred for damaged or lost items.

Temporary Residents or Visitors may be issued a library card for four months for use in the Sherman Library only.

Connecticut Residents: Connecticut residents who reside in towns other than Sherman may borrow materials from the Sherman Library by presenting a valid library card from their hometown library. If their home library is not a member of Bibliomation their library barcode, name, mailing address, e-mail address and phone number will be added to the database.

Out of State Residents are issued a library card for one year for use in the Sherman Library only.
